[ISPN-731] - make rehashing state and tx log draining serial

Mircea and I concluded that it is worth keeping the current pull state
approach and bolting proper tx log draining unless this solution becomes
more complex than the original push state approach that already
serialized state sending and tx log draining.
To summarize, during leave rehash, we need state senders to drain tx log
(InvertedLeaveTask#processAndDrainTxLog) *after* all state receivers
have transferred the state. As things stand right now
(InvertedLeaveTask#performRehash) tx log draining is interleaved with
state transfer leading to problems described in the above mentioned JIRA.
The solution I have in mind is to introduce a
Map<Integer,CountDownLatch> in DistributedManagerImpl. They keys in this
map will be view ids for the leave rehash while CountDownLatch will be
initialized to the number of state receivers. As state receivers pick up
state we countDown on the latch. State provider awaits on a latch for a
given view id and a timeout. When await returns it drains the tx log.

Why is loading from store needed before storing in cache store?

Hi,
I'd like to list the reasons why we load data from the cache store, if not present in memory, when trying to modify a k/v.
So far, the most powerful one I've found is when you're dealing with cold caches and you need to return previous value. You definitely need to load first to get previous value before modifying.
Now, if this is the only situation, it could be optimised by checking whether unreliableReturnValues is on or not.
This is somehow linked with the discussion wrt https://jira.jboss.org/browse/ISPN-693 and the previous email thread for http://lists.jboss.org/pipermail/infinispan-dev/2010-October/006436.html
I can't think of any other situations right now, but it'd be interesting to know whether anyone knows other (Manik, Mircea?)
Any information arising from this thread should be condensed into javadoc for loadIfNeeded method.

Flexible configuration

Hi all,
the CassandraCacheStore uses my cassandra-connection-pool library. This
library provides a lot of configuration settings which I would like to
people to be able to set via the infinispan XML configuration, but without
adding a setter for each one on the CassandraCacheStoreConfig class which
would just proxy the underlying pool properties ? I was thinking along the
lines of a special property "poolConfiguration" which would then be a
property file in disguise. Here is an example of what I mean:

<property name="host" value="myhost" />
<property name="poolConfiguration">
automaticHostDiscovery=true
socketTimeout=10000
</property>
</properties>

Name for the distributed execution framework?

Vladimir and I agreed on the general API design of the distributed
execution framework.
To propose more concrete API with interfaces and classes, I have to
create a Java package that contains them. And it means we need to name
the package. :-)
Anyone have a good subproject name in mind? Probably Manik might have
one. :-)

Weird wiki problem

I see link labels are messed up in many places in our wiki front page.
For example, 'Target version numbers in JIRA' points to the FAQ page and
'Architectural overview' points to the 'Target version numbers in JIRA'.
I just opened the edit page and submitted the same content again to fix
the problem. The problem is now gone but I'm frustrated with this tool.

In the case of Java hr client they are activated by default. The reason for having these levels is for clients written in other languages. e.g. if one would want to write a client in c++ but doesn't need to be topology-aware because it uses a static ISPN cluster then no point implementing the whole protocol, but only a subset of it.
