Hi Bob/Eric, as you know we still host our QA environment and the JBossWS documentation on a "private" box in our office QA http://jbws.dyndns.org:8180/hudson/ http://jbws.dyndns.org:8280/hudson/ Wiki ---- http://jbws.dyndns.org/mediawiki/index.php?title=JBossWS Apart from jbws.dyndns.org being not very corporate, this has recently become a problem for customers and service folks because we had various outages. I would very much like to move these bits to QA and jboss.org environment to provide a more reliable service. [Design of JBoss Web Services] - How does one create java bean skeleton from WSDL using JBOSS

I am developing a small web service in the JBOSS IDE for eclipse. I have created Jobss-IDE/J2EE proect 1.4. I have written wsdl and xsd files and I am trying to create java files automatically on the client and server side. Using IDE I was able to create java files on the client side. I cannot create the same on the server side. I right click on wsdl file and then web services/generate java bean skeleton. I get screen "Web Services" and message "No server can be found and WebServiceProject does not exist. Choose an existing project or use the preferences to configure a server runtime. " I heard that I can use castor to create java bean on the server side. PLease help me with creating java classes on the server side. [Design of JBoss Web Services] - Deployment of web service

Hi, I am trying to develop a bottom up web service out of a Java class using JBoss IDE 2.0. I am using JBoss AS 4.0.2 to deploy my web service. When i use the web services wizard to create the web service, it gives following error message "Unable to get URL for project {0}" at last step. But it generates the deploy.wsdd and wsdl file. If i ignore the message and deploy the web service, i see a message in the console "Unable to find config file. Creating new servlet engine config file: /WEB-INF/server-config.wsdd". Despite of this message, there is not such file created under WEB-INF. Then I tried to copy the content of deploy.wsdd in to a new file and named it as server-config.wsdd, placed it under WEB-INF. This time the "Unable to find config file. Creating new servlet engine config file: /WEB-INF/server-config.wsdd" message is disappeared. But when i launch a browser and check for the service at http://localhost:8080/context/services/ServiceEndpointInterface?wsdl and submit, i end up with "page cannot be displayed" I also tested under http://localhost:8080/axis/services, but my wsdl is not available even here. When i type "http://localhost:8080/context/services/ServiceEndpointInterface.wsdl" (unlike ?wsdl in the earlier attempt), it displays the wsdl fine. And finally when i go ahead and generate a web service client from the wsdl file and test the service, i get a fault message as below. <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> - <soapenv:Body> - <soapenv:Fault> <faultcode xmlns:ns1="http://xml.apache.org/axis/">ns1:Server.NoService The AXIS engine could not find a target service to invoke! targetService is null - <ns2:hostname xmlns:ns2="http://xml.apache.org/axis/">HWLSE56744</ns2:hostname> </soapenv:Fault> </soapenv:Body> </soapenv:Envelope> The above described behaviour is same even if I use eclipse instead of JBoss IDE. I am not sure why it is so complex to generate a simple web service even with the latest JBOSS IDE available in the market. Doesn't the tool generate all the required web service deployment descriptors which are required to deploy the web service propely? Any help on these questions would be very helpful. Also I would like to know if I am missing any step which would actually solve these problems. [Design of JBoss Web Services] - Project structure for jbossws-2.1.0

Folks, now that jbossws-2.0.0.GA is out it is time to think about a project structure that gives independent lifecycle to the individual integration projects. The SPI, the container integration layers and the stack integration layers all have independent lifecycle. It should for example be possible to deploy jbossws-2.0.0.GA in jbossas-5.0.x, by updating the jboss50 container integration to the new deployer archtecture. The SVN layout I propose is | jbossws | + container-jboss40 | + container-jboss42 | + container-jboss50 | + stack-native | + stack-metro | + stack-cxf | + spi | + testsuite | Each of the above will have trunk, branches, tags. Projects will have binary dependencies only. Hi Alessio, thanks for your offer. After every release we usually pay special attention attention to the user forum to see if there is anything special coming up. Also, since you offer, it would be great if you could help to migrate the old wiki content to the new media wiki installation. We currently rely on the standard JavaEE deployment model, which binds us to the AS. We used to have a Tomcat porting layer, which we dropped because of too little community interest. Eventually we would like to extend the JAXWS Endpoint.deploy() API to other target containers (i.e. Jetty). [Design of JBoss Web Services] - JBossWS 2.1 embedded?

Jonathan sais: I'm giving some thought to the design of our functional test suite for JBossTS XTS i.e. Web services transactions. I'd like to follow the same model as we use for JBossTS JTS, where each test runs in its own JVMs. That means a lot of starting and stopping containers! I've been experimenting with Jetty, which has a ~5second startup time for XTS, against 45-60seconds when running XTS inside JBossAS. Which brings me to the question... to what extent will JBossWS 2.1 rely on JBossAS? Can it be run under any servlet container, or does it need AS specific services? How about using JBoss Embedded? I know AXIS will run happily in Jetty, but I've not tried CFX or Metro.
