please update your POM version
by Dan Allen
Module leads,
When doing releases, we need to align our version numbering scheme.
Currently, we are using one scheme in Maven artifacts (3.0.0-Alpha1) and one
scheme for downloads (e.g., 3.0.0.Alpha1). Personally, I wouldn't care which
one we use, as long as we use a single scheme. However, it turns out the
JBoss has recently established a guideline for version numbers and I think
we should follow suit.
http://community.jboss.org/wiki/JBossProjectVersioning
major.minor.micro.Alpha[n]
major.minor.micro.Beta[n]
major.minor.micro.CR[n]
major.minor.micro.Final
So, if there are no objections, when doing a Seam 3 module release, please
use the format 3.x.y.Qualifier[n]. There are some
other conventions suggested on that page that you may find useful.
Thanks!

Re: [seam-dev] Logging in Seam Faces

Lurker turned emailer. Muhahah!
So, it will be injected? That way I can mock it and test it in "unit"
(emphasis) tests?

Re: [seam-dev] modules poms

Done - we now have a Seam Servlet project module in SVN to match the module
on sfwk.org:
http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/seam/modules/servlet/trunk/
http://seamframework.org/Documentation/Seam3Modules
Nicklas and I are the current project leads, so get in touch with us for any
pressing issues. Thanks.

PS - Nicklas, see other responses in-line below.

Not all of them yet - still have dependency on the Seam 3 Parent, which is
in SNAPSHOT. Might be able to get rid of the JBoss repo tho.

I just did a 'svn co' using this URL:

Re: [seam-dev] Testing seam modules
by Dan Allen
Arquillian is the future of the integration testing (anything beyond a unit
test) for Seam 3, the CDI TCK and probably the JBoss community in general
(though that will take some proving).
Please give it a try and stop by the Arquillian forums if you have questions
or feedback. [1] We don't have a release out yet, so you need to compile
from source. We should be getting an alpha out the door pretty soon ;)
Jordan is one of the first Seam 3 module drivers to use Arquillian, so you
can use his JMS module as a reference.

To test the Seam 3 JMS module I've been using JBoss Arquillian:

has been working for in container testing on JBoss AS 6.0.0.M1 and now M2.
The guys heading up Arquillian have been working hard on it.

[ANN] Seam-Perf4j - Perf4j integration with Seam
by Marcin Zajączkowski
Hi,
I don't know if this is the best place, but I have no rights (is it ok?)
to comment directly in JBSEAM-3968 (Integrate perf4j into Seam) [1] and
that subject was already discussed on that mailing list.
There was a problem with Perf4j [2] (utility for calculating and
displaying performance statistics) to integrate it with Seam - it
supports only AspectJ. Luckily, it was fixed in version 0.9.13.
Together with Alexander Devine (Perf4j's author) we were redesigned the
AOP model in Perf4j and starting with version 0.9.13, Perf4j support -
in theory - every AOP framework. As a proof of concept Alex wrote
support for EJB interceptors and I created an add-on for Seam Framework
2.2 - Seam-Perf4j [3] which seamlessly [4] integrates with applications
using Seam.
There are a few things to improve, but feel free to take a look and give
your feedback.

Project PicketBox v3.0.0.Beta2 is released
by PicketBox JBoss
Hi all,
(I created this gmail address for twitter for Project PicketBox. I may as
well use it for mailing lists).
Shane and I had a couple of days of intense discussion on security at
Brisbane last week. Some of those discussions were fed back into the
PicketBox project.
Read more on Project PicketBox here:
http://anil-identity.blogspot.com/2010/03/project-picketbox-security-for-...
I guess when Seam 3 is released, we are going to offload majority of the
security code to PicketBox.
I will be loitering around this dev list to basically answer any security
related questions.
