Currently dependencies are just handled as before, with all dependencies copied into lib/
I propose to replace lib/ with a local maven repository (just a simple directory structure). This will only be used if present (not present in CVS, created using dependency:copy-dependencies when running dist target). The fileset's used to declare example libraries and inclusion into deployed archives will be altered to use maven ant tasks to pull in these filesets from repositories (using the local repo if present).
This requires some extensions to existing ant tasks.
A similar scheme can be used for seam-gen

My entity had a version property:
@Version
@Column(name = "OBJ_VERSION", nullable = false)
protected Integer version;
In a very involved ajax reRender/conversation situation I sometimes got the following exception from HibernatePersistenceProvider:

This failed because oldVersion was 'null' and version was '0'.
Hibernate returned '0' from ClassMetaData.getVersion(), it looks like it can't return null, from Javadoc: Get the version number (or timestamp) from the object's version property (or return null if not versioned).
We should do a null check before asking Hibernate.
Workaround: Use primitive for version field in entity or initialize it to '0'.

To Jboss AS 4, I deployed an ear which contained jta-1.0.1B.jar and hibernate-validator, but not hibernate, hibernate-annotations and hibernate-entitymanager.

If a Seam component that triggers a timmer is used, an exception may be throw in the JBoss starting:

And it does make sense, since the timer service tries to execute a method of a seam component before the seam application is started. To solve this i think that EJBs that are seam components should only be started after all the aplications in the server get started, or something like this.

The EntityHome default messages on creation/update/deletion are hard-coded in the org.jboss.seam.framework.Home class:

The wrong locale gets set when using the 'Messages' component in a @WebRemote method called from javascript. Regardless of supported and default locales in faces-config.xml whatever the browser requests is used.
I'll attach a clean project with code example. Basically I hunted it down to org.jboss.seam.international.LocaleSelector.getLocale() where we get the locale from the HttpRequest since no FacesContext exists.
It would seem you can only have supported and default locales in a ordinary JSF request, It would be nice if Seam could keep of track that for you instead of JSF, or have I misunderstood something?

There is a bug in that prevents RememberMe functionality to work properly. This occurs when web application is deployed with empty context root path and can be reproduced in Firefox 3.0.8.
There was similar bug reported earlier for Spring: http://jira.springframework.org/browse/SEC-364
The cause is empty cookie path that set to "" in org.jboss.seam.faces.Selector when context root of deployed web app is empty. An empty cookie path results in inconsistent behavior at least between ie and firefox: ie presumes "/" whereas firefox presumes the leading path for the current request. Chrome 1.0 also does not like empty cookie path.
The bug can be fixed if method
public void setCookiePath(String cookiePath)
of org.jboss.seam.faces.Selector
will be modified in the same way:
