If you are familiar with Eclipse, the best thing to do would be to install JBoss
Tools on top of your Eclipse installation
- it contains support for Maven, Git and plenty of other useful things

You can get it according to instructions here:

Or you can get Eclipse with JBoss Tools bundled as JBoss Developer Studio:
