No, that mixed workaround is not an option. I don't want arquillian to do any deployment. Actually I'm manually deploying regular (real)app and then run tests that do only client-side testing. Those tests however need proper database setup. Currently I'm using Unitils for that, but I'd love to have arquillian-persistence-extension.
