Try the smaller binary (http://labs.jboss.com/file-access/default/members/jbossesb/downloads/4.0GA/binary/jbossesb-4.0GA.zip) The difference is that the one you are trying to download comes with JBossAS preconfigured. However, the instructions for doing that are available in the smaller binary. So all you have to do is download JBossAS separately (assuming you need it for some of the service implementations).
