Yes, there are options to do this both on the server-side (when the website
is compiled) or on the client-side using JavaScript widgets (like the +1
button).

Yes, you can use indextank to provide native search in the application.
This has not yet been setup in Awestruct yet, but you can find a model in
Jekyll (the project that inspired Awestruct).

It's possible to do something similar with elastic search as well.
