I tested with sample-ext in GateIn. From the UI and console, i could confirm that .groovy is overwritten.

Anyway, when i debuged to check the list of WebAppInitContext in  PortalContainerContext, abnormal things did happen

1. A PortalContainerPreInitTask , the one registers context of sample-ext.war  is added ( breakpoint in PortalContainerConfigOwner)

2. The list of WebAppInitContext in PortalContainerContext contains only one element corresponding to portal.war ( break point in PortalContainerContext, method getResourceAsStream )

 Obviously, 2 conflicts with 1 and makes overwriting impossible!
