I verified that this bug is fixed in latest GateIn 3.2.0.Final. I also checked that it is possible to fix in earlier gatein version by replacin libs in gatein.ear/lib with newer versions. It is enough to copy over exo.portal.component.identity... and all picketlink-idm-* jars. I will upload needed jars to your original exogtn case.
