Are you sure? I am certain that Apache and F5 and all those
guys did not get it right ;-)

And even if Alerts tells metrics "Hey don't send me OS crap, that is 
boring" via REST
does not imply that the individual data points can't be forwarded via 
messaging (or
vice-versa)
