It may not have been written down wrt the "app server" tab, but was at 
least said several times or to say it more positively: to keep the 
explorer so that people can browse through inventory and see metrics.
The alert center is a mixed thing. I believe we should keep it. But in a 
more generic form - i.e. throw out the specific code related to app 
servers to be a counterpart to the explorer
So more of a (simple) inventory/metrics dash/charting ui

I don't think we need to necessarily keep the Pinger around
