Hey Austin,

Can you describe your laptop setup?

If your laptop resources are constrained, you might try to run an external,
tuned down Cassandra node with ccm (https://github.com/pcmanus/ccm). And
then start the Hawkular server without embedded Cassandra (
http://www.hawkular.org/docs/user/installation-guide.html#_using_an_external_cassandra_cluster
).
