I meant the "settings.xml" which contains a - quoting your file -
"Example of Maven settings.xml file" and is bundled in JGroups
3.6.10.Final (not sure about other versions).

But it's just an example, I suspect you could also remove other files
like the "INSTALL.html", README, LICENSE, and the various example
configuration files, especially as they might all clash with user
configuration files.
