Binding to "java:/DefaultDS" should be exactly equivalent (according to 
the rules set forth earlier) to "java:jboss/root/DefaultDS".  As in the 
former is an alias for the latter.

It is perfectly valid to bind to "java:/DefaultDS", just a bit ugly.
