Unfortunately, I agree.  One of the first customizations I make in my workspace is, "open in external browser."

I agree with this.  I don't think the goal is or should be to duplicate what's in the console, but it does make sense to have some limited capabilities that help the developer.  I don't think the target audience for this is or should be system administrators and operations folks.
