The current versions exist in JIRA and serve different purposes:

* JBoss Portal 2.6.1 : the first maintenance release
* JBoss Portal 2.6.2 : the second maintenance release, should contain all issues that cannot go in 2.6.1
*  JBoss Portal 2.8 : the next major release of JBoss Portal

About the next major release, for now it is called 2.8 but it may be 3.0. We have not yet defined it.

The next maintenance release will probably contain more than bug fixes as it should contain more integration related features. Which means that it should contain implementation of existing interfaces or concepts but not major features.
