Is there a way to annotate your metadata to apply validation on attribute, e.g. the following regular expression:

  |   <xsd:simpleType name="versionType">
  |     <xsd:restriction base="xsd:token">
  |       <xsd:pattern value="[0-9]+(\.[0-9]+)*"/>
  |     </xsd:restriction>
  |   </xsd:simpleType>
