the annotations are only a way to make it extensible.

all the attributes that we know about can be supported in the schema directly.  e.g. <task ... form="my-task-form.xhtml"...>

some of the directly supported attributes that are infrequently used, may be mapped to the generic properties (was annotations) in the db.
