About the absolute vs relative this is confusing I agree.

It is absolute as if you are editing /default/foo/bar.html and want to refer to the image /default/foo/image.gif you need to enter the full path without the leading / so "default/foo/image.gif" you can't simply use "image.gif" (Which would be relative)
