That's cool, Wes. A lot of these practices re: pixels vs. ems vs. %s or defining fixed width layouts is changing a bit anyway, I guess.

The latest versions of the major browsers (IE7/8, FF3, Safari4) primarily support more of a zoom concept rather than text size adjusting, so the layouts appear to fluid regardless of the underlying CSS - kind of cool. 

Re: the divRenderer markup - yeah, it does kinda =P (no offense). I'm actually working on a blog entry on how I've approached creating renderers - I'll share if you're interested.
