Within the CLI we now support the use of a descriptor to specify the SSL keystore and truststore settings - in general if someone wants a remote silent authenticated connection then SSL would probably be the better way to achieve this - alternatively it's use would be recommended against but a username and password could be added to the same descriptor and we could also consider vault integration with the CLI.
