I'm catching up on this issue now.  The VFS flag didn't work completely.  I'm ready to help with plan B now (adding the EclipseLink integration code to AS7).

I'll take a shot at converting https://github.com/ringerc/as7-eclipselink-integration to org.jboss.as.jpa.eclipselink code and post back here with my updates.
