A distributed destination is a queue or topic that is distributed across the cluster, so you can send /receive messages to/from the destination while attached to any node in the cluster. This is the core ingredient of clustering. It's a clustered destination.

What you're thinking of sounds like store and forward (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Store_and_forward) which we'll be doing some time after 1.2
