We are in the process of trying the Compression for the same purpose. We saw that version 2.0 had the problems. Version 2.2 seemed better. We are now testing it in one of the production servers. 

But the problem with that is, version 2.2 is not compatible with version 2.0 

Do you have any updates on your side jedi?
