[jboss-user] [Beginners Corner] - Is it consistent behavior for jboss to copy ear files to /jb

Is it consistent behavior for jboss to copy ear files to /jboss/server/default/tmp/deploy and explode them but not copy war files?  I see each ear file in its entirety and its matching exploded subfolder.  For war files I only see their exploded folders and not the war file itself?!
