[jboss-user] [JBoss Seam] - rendered=#{sessionBean.method(parameter)} not allowed?

I have my app configured to use the SeamFaceletViewHandler and I can pass parameters successfully to action methods but this doesn't seem to work for the "rendered" attribute of components. Am I trying to stretch things too far?
