Download the binary zip file from http://labs.jboss.com/jbossas/downloads/, unzip it into any directory (I place mine at /opt, so my install directory is /opt/jboss-4.2.2.GA). Make sure you have a Sun JDK (1.5 is recommended) and that JAVA_HOME is set (mine is set to /usr/java/jdk1.5.0_13).
