What is the best/easiest way to fetch client data ("First and last name" - CN, OU ...) from server side, over SSL connection?

Is there way to use data from SSL signature from application, so, I can know who is accessing my application (key from browser or another application using my Web Service over SSL) using only key data?

Is there relevant documentation someone can point me to?
