[jboss-user] [Beginners Corner] - Is there an equivalent to OC4J Containers in JBOSS?

Hi there,
I'm trying to understand the principle difference between JBoss and Oracle Appserver architecture.
An Oracle Application Server can host several OC4J-Container in which JEE-applications can be deployed. The advantage of that architecture is the separation of applications. If one crashes at most the hosting container will be not availabe but all other applications are not touched.
Are there similar means in JBOSS to separate applications from each other or has one to start different JBoss instances - one for each application?
