The book JBoss in Action has a chapter dedicated to web services and contains a complete example application with step-by-step instructions for building and configuring the web service and client. The book is not published yet (it is based on JBossAS 5, which is not out yet, but the web services will run with 4.2.x), but the publisher has an early access program that enables you to get access to the un-edited chapters right now.  http://www.manning.com/jamae
