My code to clear the individual cache (parent node) of children still fails in 2.2.1 GA.  I'm using 

realCache.removeChild(Fqn.ROOT);

where realCache is a Node.

When it times out eventually, I get the same error.  I'll give it a shot with 3.0 and see if there's anything different.
