The dumps occurred at different places - the second one appears to be MySQL-driver related. I would also get the latest MySQL driver.
Also, do these crashes happen on another system? Sometimes the system libraries get corrupted and can cause these types of crashes; usually the only solution is to reinstall the OS or to move to other hardware. Or it could be a faulty device driver, such as for the network card, or the card itself, that is the root cause for this problem.
By the way, nothing that is done in a Java app should ever crash the JVM, so typically there is nothing that can be done in the Java app to avoid such crashes.
