Without knowing what the minor changes were, we don't know if that would affect the server startup :)

Do this - just create a copy of the server "default" configuration, and do not do those minor changes and start the server. If it starts without any issues (it should :) ), then you know for sure that the minor changes are causing the issue.

By the way, can you list those minor changes?
