I think you are missing the jndi.properties file. It should contain:

java.naming.factory.initial=org.jnp.interfaces.NamingContextFactory
  | java.naming.provider.url=jnp://localhost:1099
  | java.naming.factory.url.pkgs=org.jboss.naming:org.jnp.interfaces
