Hi peter, thanks for your reply.
I was meaning, is there a way to trigger an Action when a connection is not  reachable (f.e. oracle listener just shut down) ? 
from what I can understand, I can discover a "broken" connection only polling the DB with a running thread.....maybe is there something built-in which does this ?
