That's pretty nasty ...

Looks like a classpath issue to me. Are you absolutely sure that the required spring jars are actually packaged in the jar?

So, would you mind sharing a bit of background on the issue:

- what JBoss AS version are you using
- the list of jars you have in the packaged .war?
- the complete stacktrace
