I still have not resolved this issue.  I guess I can just use the standard JDBC Datasource instead of the Hibernate Datasource.  *Is anyone able to use the Hibernate Datasource with reports deployed on an application server?*  If so, I will continue to pursue this and would be gratefull for any help resolving my issue.  Otherwise I will just use the JDBC Datasource.
