Thanks for the response guys. The problem was that m2e-wtp wasn't installed. I thought this would have been installed when I installed the Jboss Tools Maven Integration. Once I got eclipse to install it from  http://download.jboss.org/jbosstools/updates/m2eclipse-wtp/ http://download.jboss.org/jbosstools/updates/m2eclipse-wtp/ I was able to deploy my project.
