Could you maybe share the actual process itself (the underlying XML) with us, if it doesn't contain any confidential information?
Or at least a simple test process that has the same behavior, so I can verify?

In this case, you could easily remove the cast to List, as it is irrelevant there, but that obviously doesn't solve the underlying problem  ;)
