There is no -ra.xml deployment in JBoss AS 7 -- this only works in IronJacamar/Standalone.

The proper way to do it is to add an META-INF/ironjacamar.xml with the activation configuration. Schema:  http://docs.jboss.org/ironjacamar/schema/ironjacamar_1_0.xsd http://docs.jboss.org/ironjacamar/schema/ironjacamar_1_0.xsd
