Actually, I found the archetypes in this repo:

 http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/jbosstools/workspace/fred/repositories/snapshot/ http://anonsvn.jboss.org/repos/jbosstools/workspace/fred/repositories/snapshot/

I added this to our Nexus installation and I'm still getting the same error.
