"something" is blocking your acces to this repository and my guess is 

    <mirror>
                              <!--This sends everything else to /public -->
                              <id>public</id>
                              <mirrorOf>*</mirrorOf>
                              <url> http://mynexus:8081/nexus/content/groups/public http://mynexus:8081/nexus/content/groups/public</url>
                    </mirror>



is the culprit.

Can you try (just for fun  ;)  to remove that and see how it goes ?
