The reason is the class "org.apache.log4j.DailyRollingfileAppender": it contains the following code:</p><p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"> </p><p><em>scheduledFilename = fileName+sdf.format(new Date(file.lastModified()));</em></p><p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"> </p><p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;"> </p><p>What you can do is extend the log4j class and change the behaviour of the method.
