<div class="jive-rendered-content"><p>There are several threads that were discussed on this same issues back in 2006. But checking if there are any better approch now.</p><p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;">&#160;</p><p>We are using a pretty old application developed in 2004 that is using huge caching mechanism with joboss cache as secodary cache option.</p><p>The app uses Hibernate 2.X and JBoss cache 1.2.4.</p><p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;">&#160;</p><p>We are seeing the below issue when there is multi user load on the application.</p><p>net.sf.hibernate.cache.CacheException: org.jboss.cache.lock.TimeoutException: read lock for OBJECT could not be acquired by GlobalTransaction after 15000 ms. Locks: Read lock owners: {}</p><p>Write lock owner: GlobalTransaction:</p><p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;">&#160;</p><p>The app seems to be very huge one and upgrading to hibernate 3.0 is huge impact and time taking. We are looking for other options. </p><p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;">&#160;</p><p><span>After looking at the thread, </span><a class="jive-link-external-small" href="https://community.jboss.org/message/264359#264359#264359" target="_blank">https://community.jboss.org/message/264359#264359</a></p><p>it seems upgrade to 1.4.1.GA fix the issue(with out hibernate upgrade to 3.X), how ever there was no confirmation that solved the issue.</p><p><span>Please let me know if this fixes the issue. Also, by looking at </span><a class="jive-link-external-small" href="https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBCACHE-955" target="_blank">https://issues.jboss.org/browse/JBCACHE-955</a></p><p>there seems to be a performence issue. Is that true ?</p><p>Appreciate your help.</p><p style="min-height: 8pt; height: 8pt; padding: 0px;">&#160;</p><p>Thanks</p><p>Dileep</p></div>
