there was a bug in the cookie building code that was not terminating cookies correctly in some circumstances. furthermore there was also a bug that was adding -1 to cookies in other cases. The 1st bug (inproperly terminated cookies) pretty much matches the cases where we had the linux distro (keywords) reported in the user defined vars.
