I created a PoC for this work in my own repo (https://github.com/mmusgrov/quickstart-1/tree/jms/quarkus/jms).

And there is an ongoing discussion about what kind of functionality we want (see the thread on the quarkus-dev list with the subject line "Last resource optimisation for JMS QPid".
