Richard, 

It happens when when you get soapbody out of the message in the application code in the server side. In the client side I get

<env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
   <env:Header/>
   <env:Body>
      <env:Fault>
         env:Server
         java.lang.NullPointerException
      </env:Fault>
   </env:Body>
</env:Envelope>
