You are touching on another major topic which deserves it's own thread.
Right now, there isn't a JSF home page, so to speak. You have to go to each
of the implementations (MyFaces, Mojarra), vendors (RichFaces, Trindad,
ICEfaces, etc) or third-party add-ons (Seam) to get key information about
JSF. I'm not questioning the plethora of information, but rather how
disparate it is. I'm hoping to have one page, perhaps on the JCP.org site,
perhaps on java.net, that points to all of the key resources (FAQ, JavaDoc,
TLDDoc, spec, mailinglist, forums). It should be large font, very clear and
very consise. (If it already exists, then great, let's make sure it is up to
date and get the word out).

That will enable greater participation, which is more what this thread is
working to make feasible.
