This is unlucky!
I just tested with following branches, tags of drools-compiler (fetched from upstream about 10 Minutes ago):
- master
- 5.3.x
- 5.4.0.Beta2
In all cases I get this unittest result:
junit.framework.AssertionFailedError: expected:<-2> but was:<-1>
at junit.framework.Assert.fail(Assert.java:50)
at junit.framework.Assert.failNotEquals(Assert.java:287)
at junit.framework.Assert.assertEquals(Assert.java:67)

at junit.framework.Assert.assertEquals(Assert.java:205)
at org.drools.integrationtests.MiscTest.testJBRULES3416(MiscTest.java:9558)<------ the line number can be different than in git, I don't know how to correctly apply my changes to different branches and thus am manually applying patches on each branch/tag I am testing
